GOPAL DAGNOGO
Born in 1973 in Ivory Coast, to an Ivorian father and a French mother, Gopal arrived in Bordeaux in 1991 to follow a course in visual arts which he began in high school. In 1997, he returned to Africa and settled in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso to learn traditional bronze techniques. Three years later he returned to France and settled in Paris. Between 2001 and 2009, occupied by food jobs and lack of workshop he gives up painting.
Since 2010 Gopal has participated in numerous exhibitions in Africa, Europe, the USA and Asia. More recently, he participated in the 11 th and 12 th edition of the Dakar Biennale in Senegal, Dak'Art (2014 and 2016), in the 1 th Kampala Biennale in Uganda ( 2014) as well as at the 5 th Maiden Tour festival in Baku, Azerbaijan (2014).
Gopal has also been invited to various artist residency programs, including ART OMI New York (2014). Some of his works are in public and private collections, including that of the Museum of Modern Art in Kuwait City, Kuwait.
